RSPB Snettisham celebrated its fiftieth birthday this month. This amazing place in Norfolk is one of the UK’s most important sites for wildfowl and waders.
The Norfolk Spring Tides are the biggest and best tides for witnessing the thousands of birds feeding on the mudflats, being pushed closer to shore. During this event most if not all of the estuary is consumed by the sea and submerged underwater.
There a few places in the UK where you can experience the sights and sounds of nature any better than the North Norfolk coast during the Spring tides that start in earnest from this month onward.
Come along and support Wader Quest – “Inspiration of Waders” event on the 27th October at Cley Marshes visitor centre , Norfolk. Be inspired while helping and supporting the work of Wader Quest.
I’m pleased to announce that I will be part of this brand new event at Pensthorpe Natural Park on the 18th & 19th May. I will be doing talks and practical workshops on both days, showing why I love Norfolk’s wildlife so much and what the place means to me.
The beauty of photographing wildlife is that it is always changing and evolving, encountering the unexpected. In this environment the photographer must learn to work with these changing environmental conditions and behaviours, and the result cannot always be predicted. For me this only adds to the excitement of wildlife photography. Its been a really busy period for one to ones and workshops with clients over the last several weeks. Here are a few images from the field I took alongside them all, as well as a few from my own project.
Over the last several weeks I have noticed a slight change in the weather, with brighter mornings and lighter evenings, it would seem Spring, my favorite time of the year is now in full swing.
