Wolves, Bears, Wolverines

Finland is one of Europe’s last places of true wilderness. During the summer months the sun rarely sets giving you almost twenty-four hours of light.

Devoid of humans, interrupted only by the occasional roar of Bears or the haunting howl of Wolves. The stillness of this place is just beautiful along with its remoteness, giving you a sense of true wilderness.

Not far from the Russian / Finnish border there is a place where some of Europe’s most rarest and persecuted mammals live.

From purpose built hides you can, we lots of luck and patience get a glimpse of these shy, beautiful mammals; Brown Bear, European Grey Wolf and Wolverine.

It’s an amazing place that I have visited many times over the years. In July 2026 I will be running my “Wolves, Bears & Wolverines” tour once more.

We fly to Helsinki, then catch our flight to Kajaani. It’s then a 165km drive by road to our base camp for the week.

It’s wild, remote and an absolutely beautiful place with lots of of wildlife around our base camp.
