Due to recent wintry weather conditions it’s been a challenging time in the Peak District National Park running my Mountain Hare workshops while doing my own photography. My clients and I were able to spend some wonderful moments with the Mountain Hares that live in this region of England.


Short-eared Owls are commonly seen hunting during the day here in the UK. During the Winter months their numbers can increase greatly with an influx of birds from the continental.

The wild Red Deer in the Peak District National Park are completely wild and aren’t easy to get near, unlike the Deer in the various parks around the UK. Working alongside them. watching and learning about their behaviour is absolutely crucial.


As a wildlife photographer my mission is to help wildlife with my images, telling their stories and more about where and how they live.


The winners of the MPOY 2024 competition, Mammal Connections have now been announced. The standard was absolutely brilliant in all the categories.

1st place:The Squirrel and the Bee by Gary Watson, taken near Elgin, Scotland.
On the whole the figures from the Barn Owl Trusts State of the UK Barn Owl Population 2023 report show that it was another good year for breeding Barn Owls across the UK.

Its always a pleasure to help this wonderful charity with my images as I have been doing for many years.
